Spanish Fork High School Band FacultyHere's where we will have information about the band faculty Band Director : Bryant SmithBryant Smith has been Director of Bands at Spanish Fork High School since 2006. Originally from Concord, Massachusetts, he received a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Utah and a Masters Degree in Instrumental Conducting, with emphasis in band, from Brigham Young University. Musical experiences include 5 years with Utah's Marching Utes (including a year as Drum Major), 2 years as graduate assistant to the BYU Cougar Marching Band, and director of the Pleasant Grove City Orchestra. He is also currently director of the BYU University Band. Originally a saxophonist he has performed with numerous groups including the Soft Touch Big Band, the Salt Lake Symphony, and multiple university ensembles. He loves music and is thrilled to work with other people that support musical endeavors. He also feels strongly that music education is an essential part of balancing a students life. When not at band (which seems very rare) Bryant enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and his two boys, Kyle and Isaac. They are expecting a little girl in late May. Other interests include sports, photography, reading, composing, visiting friends and family, and fulfilling church responsibilities.
